Alex Burr Tight rhythm and a relaxed but spirited horn sound, with arrangements that are a mix of careful ensemble work and improvised play... a combination that works magnificently! A great successor to their first release. Favorite track: Tain't Like That.

Arnas Razgūnas A great dancing set! The band is tight playing fast and slow, easily creates a nice flow with plenty of medium tap-your-foot tempos, instrumentals and tracks with vocals. Beautiful takes on Blue Lester, Tain’t Like That and Jeep’s Blues. A very nice selection of popular and rare classics keeps your attention through the whole album. Favorite track: Blue Lester.

jakespatz The laid-back groove of the Brooks Prumo Orchestra hits the sweet spot. This is fine swing without any try-hard hype. The studio mix is balanced, and it hops and slides like music should (unlike some other contemporary jazz). "Out of Nowhere" is outstanding: inspired arrangement, knockout playing, genuine emotion. The vocal numbers get better with every listen, and "Blue Lester" has about it a certain sunburn-on-your-skin mint julep nighttime ease. Favorite track: Out Of Nowhere.

I love this ENTIRE album!!! How to chose a favourite (Well Read Baby?!) Keenan's album is a tour de force of songs that were written now, but he's so totally internalized the style that they sound like they are from another century! The musicianship, arrangements, and the voice of Laura Windley are great. This is my fave vocal showing from Laura, too! (and she has lots of great records) Can't recommend this highly enough Alex P
